Dr. Aashish (AJ) Joshi

Dr. Aashish Joshi (AJ) leads the Veterinary Technical Marketing team for the U.S. Pet Business at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, USA.
Originally from India, Dr. Joshi began his career in veterinary medicine through companion animal private practice after earning his veterinary degree. He later moved to the United States to pursue graduate studies at the University of Kentucky Medical Center (UKMC), where he earned a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Department of Neurobiology. His research focused on uncovering the molecular mechanisms of neuronal cell death following traumatic spinal cord injury, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications.
Following his Ph.D., Dr. Joshi completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship and served as a Scientist in the Hematology and Oncology department at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. There, he applied his expertise in cell and molecular biology to investigate the pathogenesis of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), contributing to six scientific publications.
Combining his background in veterinary medicine, biomedical research, and project leadership, Dr. Joshi transitioned into industry after earning an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Joshi has diverse experience across industries including his current role in the animal health industry at Boehringer Ingelheim. His industry career began in competitive business intelligence within medical biotechnology at Abbott Laboratories, followed by commercial leadership roles at Dow AgroSciences, where he managed project, product, and portfolio strategies for 12 leading brands across the U.S.
Dr. Joshi resides in the Atlanta metropolitan area with his wife and two children—a 10-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring Georgia’s scenic hiking trails, and staying active through racquet sports.
