Shirin Modaresi, DVM, MS is a graduate of University of Georgia CVM (class of 2010). She worked in small animal private practice in GA for 4 years before moving to NC in 2014 to work for Hill’s Pet Nutrition in several roles, including as a Professional Consulting Veterinarian and the Strategic Manager for Veterinary Students and New Grads. While there, she was also able to get experience as a CSU CVM Communications Coach for the 2nd and 3rd year vet students.

In January of 2024, Shirin took on a new role at Boehringer Ingelheim, where she joined the Corporate Partnership Team that supports NVA & Ethos in the US and Canada. She also continues to do monthly relief shifts at her hometown veterinary hospital in Rock Hills, SC to stay current and to snuggle puppies & kittens.

While in veterinary school, Shirin did parasitology research, rescued feral kittens, chaired the Diversity Committee, and founded the UGA CVM Animal Welfare Club. When she's not working, her favorite things are traveling around the world, going to live music, dancing Zumba, and cooking plant-based meals. Shirin lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband Gabriel, two sons Cyrus & Kai (14 & 16), dog Rosie, and two cats Satin & Ellie.

Shirin started serving her term as an Emerging Leader on the AVMA Early Career Development Committee in June 2024 and At-large Director for AAIV in December of 2024.
